Where the Playas Play

I'm heading back to Crystal Lake this afternoon and will be visiting until Saturday morning. I believe I have left my phone at work so I will be using Corinne's phone as a means of contact. As we have been dating for more than a year, one would think I could post her number from memory, but, alas, I fail (damn you #2 speed dial).

I'm pumped to play our new drum set, eat meals that I don't have to pay for, celebrate my sista's big 1-3 b-day, and enjoy some summer sun instead of pouring coffee.

I'm going to bring my camera so we'll see what I can find.

Enjoy your week.

*edit*

Found my phone, give me a call if you're around.

Planetarium Thursday

The Planetarium is free this week so Corinne adn I decided to make our maiden voyage together. Overall, it was below expectations but there were some interesting displays. McDonalds also had free iced coffee today so I got 3 samples at different locations which made the summer day even that much wonderful.

Ain't my girly pretty?

Did you download the new firefox? I, along with 8 million others, did download and became apart of a Guinness world record.

I'm enjoying the new smart search url bar. Eventually, it will read your thoughts and take you to whichever site you want. I think Stephen Hawkings has an early version of this.

Someone come play music with me.

That's not a metaphor for anything; I just want to make something.

A Drop of Golden Sun

Ran into this little one while taking some pictures by Naperville Central High School. I was behind their baseball field and looked out across the practice football field to see this girl (? ) staring right at me. She slowly strutted toward me with no care in the world while I gingerly took pictures. She didn't hesitate at all while my camera made noise and she continued to walk towards me as if suggesting she wanted my spot. I ungracefully moved out of the way - expecting some sort of baby deer attack - and she walked right by me and continued on her merry, little way.

Prison Break took place in Oswego one time

Here are some pictures from my stay in Oswego. We found those sixteen-year-olds smoking under a bridge and they wanted their picture taken.

Wonderful

Corinne and I just returned from my first kayaking experience. Her parents dropped us off about 3 miles up the Fox River and we floated all the way back to her backyard. Along the way I saw baby ducks, turtles, bass, and a heron. There was one intense area of rippling rapids, but I fought them off and came out on the other end. I really want to go kayaking on an intense river where I have to fight to save my life. I should probably learn to swim better before I tackle that.

More Coming Soon

Here are some pictures I had on my computer that I recently found using Picasa (Google's little picture organizer).

My roommate for 1 year, 6 months, and 2 days had his 1st blog birthday today. Check him out here: http://alexmeetsworld.blogspot.com/

Variations on a Shaker Hymn

Day 2 in the new apartment. The free wireless has improved exponentially; thank you room 401. That's our bedroom above - Arizona coffee mug, guitars, and ceramic arm included. Alex's side is still a mess as it takes him half a week to move a quarter mile across town.

Have you watched Lost? If yes, you are probably creating scenarios in your head right now. If no, then you have no excuse because abc.com streams it for free and it's cheaper to get addicted to it than any prescription drug will cost you at the store. I have a request, though. If you are a watcher and one of the seven readers of this blog, please don't leave any sort of spoiler alert in the comment section. I'm only half way through the first season and we don't want to ruin it for anyone else. Thanks.

We received two new copies of the new Weezer cd at the radio station (unofficially, the red cd). I like what I hear thus far. No lame first singles, but if you're looking for Pinkerton you're not going to find it. You will find punny lyrics, like this one from a song entitled, Everybody Get Dangerous: When I was younger / I used to go and tip cows for fun, yeah / Actually, I didn't do that / Because I didn't want the cow to be sad.

Stick around as long as you want, summer.

Boxes, Boxes Everywhere

Today I officially moved into my summer residence at school. It's a suave school sponsored apartment right in the heart of downtown Naperville. It's refreshing to have my stuff out of boxes and have a bed to lay on.

Some of the apartments haven't been used much in the past. I went to turn on the shower today for the first time and I was welcomed by a nice egg smelling redish orange color coming out of the faucet. It quickly morphed into its normal water color, but before I knew it changed back to a black color, reminiscent of a poisonous liquid. The colors eventually disappeared, but the smell still needs to be worked on.

I tried posting a picture, but I'm currently stealing wireless from some random individual so expect some pictures soon.

Good times ahead.
