planet of ice

Corinne, Nick, and I went to ISu this saturday to see greg, mark, bini, and justin. It was fun to have corinne meet everyone so that when I reference certain stories from my past they are not lost in a name fog. We went to a party where a guy outside was blowing fire and we drunkenly stole popcorn, gatorade, bread, alcohol, and chef boyarde from the party (that's how we roll?). I also got to witness the disaster that is Bini's apartment. Picture a closet door as the permanent beer pong table and center of the living room, holes in the walls, a bathroom that would make oscar the grouch clean, and beer in the fruit dispenser of the refrigerator. It was perfect. Thanks for having us gents.

I was forced to withdraw from a class so now I have class only on tuesdays and thursdays. I'm not trying to force the major/minor dilemma right now, instead I'm just going to let it work itself out.

Corinne and I are going to see saves the day on thursday. I'm excited because the last time I wanted to see saves the day was at warped tour but they played at 11:30am for some reason so we missed it. Corinne will tell you she is not excited, but she is. It should be a good time.

I think I need to start carrying a frisbee at all times. Kyle, Ryan, and I walked all the way across campus yesterday, throwing the frisbee around, so Kyle could get a paper signed by a teacher. We didn't wear shoes - doing our best Huck Finn impressions. It felt great to be running around outside in bare feet through the heart of the campus. We didn't hit any windows, people, or dogs either so that's always a good thing.

After you read this, go outside and enjoy the weather.

i hope these hands can turn back time

My mind's been all over the place the last week or 2 but overall everything is going pretty well.

I've found a comfortable group of people to surround myself with and it seems like i've been doing nothing but laughing this term. A lot of these people I know I will talk to for the rest of my life, and there's something very pleasing about that sentence.

Things with corinne are going really well. We smile, laugh, have a good time, and debate the legitimacy of certain bands. Saturday corinne, nick devlin, and myself are heading down to ISU to see some friends, bros, brahs, etc. Should be fun for nick and corinne to put some faces to the stories and to merge the friends for a night.

School could be going better. I'm having some doubts about my major and minor and don't really know which direction i want to take. I want to be happy and enjoy going to work, but I don't know where that leaves me. Fortunately, China/Japan will allow me to escape for 3 months and maybe I'll do a little "soul searching". If you have any advice in this category I'd love to hear it.

Watch this music video from the band Matt and Kim. They're adorable. Like puppies and a 2 year old speaking its first words.

English joke

Why did Alexander Pope prefer iambic pentameter?

Because it was the only time he could claim 5 feet for himself.

anti-climactic

Yesterday after lunch I was approached by 2 people within 5 minutes who both informed me that I was a presence in their dream the night before. My initial thought? Awesome, I was probably saving the world from natural disaster or traveling to the moon via bicycle. My actual actions in these dreams were far from cool.

According to Kelley Knapp's dream, I was conducting a survey of some sort but my results didn't add up to 100. That's it. I wasn't slaying a dragon, and then conducting a survery. Nope, just little old Austin conducting a survery in a dream world.

2 minutes later I ran into Steve Loredo (former hall mate). He also informed me that I was in his dream the night before, and I explained how I was in Kelley's dream in a less than exciting role, so I hoped this one was better. He chuckled to himself and then told me that in his dream he had a watch that detected STDs in people. Guess who made the watch go off in Steve's dream world. Yep, this guy. It was some STD that started with an s, and those were the only details that I received.

Both of these situations had the possibility for greatness, but in both I turned out creepy and lame.

bring me the bright sound

The days are going by quicker than I can ever remember. I have been slacking on updates and can't guarantee much with a busy schedule that has me out of the room most of the day. But I am happy and that's what matters.

I love this picture. It represents me the last week and a half.

Happy Birthday David Sanborne. I hope you learn 3 more languages this year.
