The bike is fixed and life is back to normal. Wonderful bike rides with mountainous backdrops and warm fall weather would be perfect if only there were a bike (girl)friend.
Last week I rode the bike to a guitar shop in town. I was worried the lady wouldn't let me play, but she offered me all of the guitars and even had an amp set up to play. None of the guitars were tuned properly, but it felt so nice touching strings again. I think this is what it will be like to see girlfriend again, but only 1/100th of the actual emotion that that day will hold.
Japanese class is going well. Japan has an alphabet - hiragana - which is 46 characters. We covered hiragana this week and I surprised myself by how much I can remember when I actually study.
Japan is beautiful and if you're ever thinking about coming here, don't have second thoughts. Anyone who has any desire whatsoever to set foot outside the U.S. should, and would fall in love with this country. Everything feels right here. Almost right, at least.
Sometimes feeling grown up can be an exhilarating feeling. I e-mailed my pops last week for some recipes since we cook our own food in Japan. I tried his scrambled egg recipe and made myself a gourmet meal. I feel like I can be a successful dad now that I know how to cook good scrambled eggs. My kids may struggle, but they will not go breakfastless.
Miss Corinne Young and I were talking the other day and she vented her frustration over a time lapse like project. This gave me an idea - or she gave me the idea. I'm going to find a tree/scene here in Kameoka and take a picture of it everyday. The colors are slowly starting to change, but a lot of it is still green. Since we're here until Dec. 17th I'm expecting some beautiful colors. Wish me luck.
Last thing. I inserted a link to Hiro's blog over there ------>
For those who don't know, Hiro is a Japanese student at the school here and studied at North Central last fall and winter. His English is unbelievable and that's evident in his writing. He's a cool guy so make sure to check it out.
